Spongebob Cake

Click the picture to enlarge.
Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?  Spongebob Squarepants!  Made this cake for a friend, of a friend.  When I was first told I had to do a Spongebob cake I said to myself "Easy.. it'll take me an hour!"  Yeah, okay.  I forgot how detailed Spongebob really was.  Overall, including baking and cooling, it took me 5 hours to do.  I'm pretty happy with how he turned out.  And apparently he was a big hit at the party.  Woohoo.

Designer Logo Cake

How does that song go?
Gucci, Louis, Fendi I wear them cause I'm pretty
Yeah, that's what this cake was all about!  It featured a bunch of designer logos, from Prada, to Juicy, to Christian Louboutin!  This cake also featured a 100% edible shoe.  It was made from gumpaste, which was then painted and sparkled!  And the shoe is of course a Chrisitan Louboutin!  Too bad I can't afford the designer stuff!

Harley-Davidson Cake

This cake was made for a man who really loves motorcycles and anything Harley-Davidson.  It's a simple 10" round which was decorated with gumpaste flames.  The topper is made of a 9" white gumpaste circle, an 8" orange gumpaste circle and the Harley-Davidson logo, which I hand cut.  The sign standing in the back is made up of gumpaste and stuck in the cake with dowels.  If I were a man, I'd love this cake!

Hello Kitty Cake

Calling all Hello Kitty fans!  This cake is for you.  I did this cake in two pieces, the head being one and the body another.  It's covered in white fondant, then decorated with pink fondant to decorate.  The whiskers are made up of gumpaste, as well as the eyes and nose.  I've never really liked Hello Kitty before this cake, but I've got to say, she's pretty cute!

Barbie Cake

This cake was made for a little girls birthday.  They asked for a beautiful Barbie cake, and this is what I came up with!  The doll is adorned with a ball gown type dressed, which has white accents and pearls throughout.  The entire cake is covered in sparkles and it gleamed in the light.  The cake looked so elegant!

Rose Cupcakes

These are vanilla cupcakes topped with vanilla buttercream.  The buttercream was tinted two types of pink.  Using a piping bag, I made the buttercream look like a rose.  Every few cupcakes was then topped with a white sparkly gumpaste butterfly.

Neon Sweet 16 Cake

Before I begin, please take no notice to the cotton balls!  Haha, I forgot to remove them before taking pictures!

This cake was for a neon themed sweet 16.  I was told to have fun with it and do whatever I felt like doing, and this is what I came up with!  In the end, I didn't like the bottom tier, but I love the top two. Every tier is covered completely in sparkles.  Even though you can't tell from the pictures, the cake sparkled from every angle.  Everything was made with fondant, except for the bow.  What do you think?!

Grocery Bag Cake

Oh man, this cake is back to haunt me!  It gave me so many problems that I didn't even want to post it!

The food pieces went very smoothly.  They include a chicken leg, carrot, apple, sausage, pickle, loaf of bread, cupcake, personal pizza, grapes and a pork chop.  Every piece is made up of rice cereal treats then covered in fondant and painted.

The bag is where my trouble began.  It was the first time that I worked with chocolate fondant.  The second I opened the pail I got the strongest smell of chocolate I could ever imagine.  I'm a chocolate lover, and it was even too much for me!  Immediately I realized the brown was way too dark to be a brown grocery bag, so I added white to it.  After I was satisfied with the color, I set it aside and worked on other things.  I went back to it, and the brown had taken over!  It was back to its original color.  So, I added even more white.  Lets just say, that didn't work either!  Although the bag is too dark of a brown, I'm still proud of this cake.

Baby Butt Cake

I went into work and was told I had to do a baby butt cake.  I said to myself "Who would want to cut into a butt and eat it?!".  After I put my crazy thoughts aside, I got to work.  The customer didn't know if the baby was a boy or girl so I had to use gender neutral colors.  Brown, yellow, tan and baby green.  The babys butt and legs are made up of rice cereal treats and covered in fondant.  The feet are made entirely of fondant as well as the blanket on top of the babys butt.  The decorations along the bottom of the cake are made of gumpaste.  After this cake was finished, I fell in love.  I didn't want to give it up!

Gnome Cake

I made this cake for a friend of mine.  Her Aunt was turning 50 and she wanted a birthday cake.  My friend told me, "My Aunt LOVES gnomes".  And I was like "Gnomes, huh?  I can do that!"  Meanwhile all I was thinking was... How in the heck am I going to make a gnome cake?!  After some researching online and after finding some inspiration, I came up with this cake.  Everything is 100% edible.  From the fence planks, to the snails, to the mushrooms.  Even the gnomes and their signs!  A lot of work was put into this cake, but when it was done, it became one of my favorites.
